4th/5th/6th Grade

Happy New Year!!!

Well, here we are at the start of the second semester.  This is the point of the school year when I expect that each student has formulated a path for academic success.  This plan should include excellent study skills, effective time management, and a solid work ethic. Before the holiday break, I asked the class what they felt I could to further assist them in the classroom to become more efficient.  I both respect and appreciate their responses.  I plan to fully utilize their requests in this third quarter.

The assignment for the Research Paper is quickly approaching for 5th and 6th grade.  The topic for 5th grade is a historical person, while the 6th grade topic is a historical event.  Each student will be issued a research folder and a checklist of assignment due dates. The checklist will allow you to follow their progress, daily. This is a 6-week process.  More information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the start date.  Procrastination is not an option with this assignment.

As of this time, we have had our first Teacher of the Day.  In complete control, she did an outstanding job!

Upon their return to school, each student, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, should have their own copy of the book Blended, a novel by Sharon Draper for our January book report.
