4th/5th/6th Grade
4th Quarter Notes
Friday, March 14, 2025, marks the end of the third quarter. At this point of the school year, the days and weeks seem to pass quickly. We are looking forward to the nice weather in the springtime to play kickball, go to the park, and enjoy a second recess!!!!
Currently, each grade, especially the 4th and 5th graders, are learning and implementing the elements of the Writing Process. Expect your student to have more than one rewrite of their rough draft of their book report on the novels read during February. The first requirement was to read the novel in its entirety. (Surprise, Surpriseā¦.many of them did not complete the book, or read past the first few chapters). Book reports count as a test grade in Language. Also, I returned the Ohio State Notebooks to some of the 4th graders. The expectation of passing History for 3rd quarter is impossible without completing the Ohio Notebook to the best of your ability. This was a 6-week assignment. All notebooks are due on March 4, 2025. These notebooks count as two test grades in History.
Please follow the test/quiz calendar for exam dates. As usual, check your student's assignment book for study tips.
At the conclusion of the Science exams, each class will begin Health, as you will see on the calendar.
The Bible Memory for March is Romans 12:1-8. The recitation date will be March 31, 2025.
Standardized Testing for students K5 through 6th grade is scheduled for March 31 through April 11, 2025. Testing will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. each morning.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me. Excellence is our primary goal. To refer back to my initial newsletter to parents in August of 2024, this combined class is for highly independent, motivated learners. This premise remains true as we approach the end of the academic school year.
Respectfully,
Sis. Coleman
