4th/5th/6th Grade
Headlines of 4th, 5th and 6th Grades
Presently, everyone has become acclimated to the structured elements of our combined classroom.
The 5th graders are currently working on their first Science project on constellations. 5th graders are also independently reading Message of the Mountain, which is the sequel to Secret in the Maple Tree which they read in third grade. This will be their first book report of the school year. Two chapters are assigned each night for homework. This will be an in-class writing assignment. Please check the 5th grade calendar for due dates. Meanwhile, the sixth graders are nearing the completion of their Adopt A Tree project in Science. Each student will give an oral presentation along with the display of their posterboards. No worries 4th graders, your project days are coming!
You should be aware that each week we have Computer Lab on Tuesdays, Visual Art class on Wednesdays and Physical Education on Thursdays. The students are very excited about each of these “Specials”. I strongly encourage you to utilize IXL at home. IXL is a comprehensive learning experience in both Math and Language Arts. The immersive program allows me to track their progress in their individual diagnostic assessment. Feel free to explore the advantages of IXL with your student. All students should work towards the goals established in their diagnostic arena.
The Bible Memory for August/September is Philippians 2:4-11. The recitation date is September 30th.
I hope to see you all at the Parent Teacher Conference on September 18th.
Respectfully,
Sis. Coleman
