2nd/3rd Grade

Happy New Year!

2026 has finally arrived!  I pray you, your family and friends enjoyed this time together.  Each of you made our Christmas celebration special with your decorations, games, crafts, and delicious food you served at our luncheon.  I can't express how much I appreciate every lovely, and thoughtful gift given to me.  Thank you for every card, sacrifice, and expression of gratitude.  I felt loved!

We are now beginning third quarter.  Second and Third grade have taken a sneak preview into where we are headed.  Our Arithmetic skills will continue with multiplication, division, equations, money, challenging story problems, Roman Numerals, and converting measures.  

Language skills will move forward in parts of speech with diagramming, writing a letter, creative writing  with the use of a dictionary, thesaurus, and encyclopedia; Reading Comprehension skills, and following instructions as well.  We are looking forward to writing a response to our Pen-Pals at Roysambu Academy.

History will include mapskills, Inventors, Black History and other historical events. 

Science will continue learning the animal kingdom and their classification, parts of insects with stages of metamorphosis, animal habitats and the food chain.  You will soon receive more information about our upcoming project: “My Animal Notebook”. We will also begin to learn the human anatomy.  

IXL, Art and Physical Ed. are also part of our 3rd quarter.

Thank you, Parents, for your continued suggestions and support you give to get our children to be their best.  Please continue checking their backpacks.  Have an area for study where there will be no distractions.  Have Snacks, They will come! 

Each Student has set a goal for Principal's List or A-B Honor Roll.  THEY CAN DO IT!
