HAPPY NEW YEAR 3RD GRADE PARENTS!

We are now beginning a new year and our 3rd quarter!  Our class has set the goal for A or A-B Honor Roll for this quarter.  We will work together to strengthen and improve in each subject.

We will develop our writing skills with reports written from our readers and comprehension of chapter books.  Our research will include the use of the dictionary, encyclopedia and other resources.  Stay tuned for our “My Animal Notebook” project information.  This will require some creativity, research and will have a time limit.

Language skills will include more parts of speech, diagramming, and proper word usage.  

Arithmetic has already changed into an array of uses for multiplication and division.  Measurement conversions, fractions, setting and reading various graphs, and Roman Numerals, just to name a few.  Knowing their multiplication facts will be key to their success.

We are enjoying the use of our computer lab with the IXL program and Smart board to challenge our memory skills in History and Science facts with terminology and reports that will keep learning fresh and exciting.  Keep your calendar posted for Tests and quizzes.  

Parents, we cannot do this without your help!  Please check your child's backpack for assignments and/or notes; as all homework is not written; but also studied.  A place to study without distractions will be a blessing.  Have snacks, they will come!
