About Us

Our Philosophy

Founded in 1983, Zion Temple Christian Academy is a private, non profit Christian School that offers highly competetive academic standards. We are motivated by love, which constraints us to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proberbs 22:6. For these are the words of the highest authority and greatest motivator (of all life), who promised to direct us in all of our goings. He is the Lord Jesus Christ.

In having the greatest director, we believe we can achieve the greatest goals. Our concern is to develop the total person, i.e., the spirit, the soul and the body, which incorporates other aspects such as: the mental, the social and the emotional levels of man.

Enrollment

Z.T.C.A admits students of any race, and national or ethic origin. All rights, privileges and activities made available to students at the school. Be sure to secure registration early before uniforms are purchased.

Our Curriculum

Most important is our eternal life to come, which is why we include Bible Lessons in our curriculum every day. We believe that children must be equipped to live in this life. Therefore, we use what we think is the best overall academic material available for them.

Our curriculum, which has been devised by christian teachers and adminstrators, contains day-by-day lesson plans for an entire year. The purpose of the curriculum is to be a help to the teacher as well as the student. Thousands of christian schools around the world successfully use the A Beka Book Curriculum, which is based on sound scholarship, common sense, and the Word of God.

It is not enough to simply talk about doing right. The child must be expected to do right, and sometimes be forced to do right by means of Godly discipline. We believe that a time will come when students will have learn to choose the right thing on their own based on our teaching, common sense, and the Word of God.

Testing

Testing is not a pre-entrance examination. It is merely an aid to show points of concern and will be given at least once a year, normally in the Spring. This testing only applies to grades K5 and up.

School Opening

The first day of school for 2010/2011 is August 18th. Regular school hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Before/After School Watch

Please refer to the Before/After School Watch form if interested. Programs begin on the first day of school. The time for BSW is 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. / ASW time is 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Please refer to the Chart below for cost.

FREE Child Watch Programs

8:00 a.m.- 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. A note on employment letterhead is required.

Lunch

Hot lunch available. Children may bring prepared lunches. Milk or juice may be purchased at the school for $.50. Cookies, peanut butter crackers, granola bars etc. may be purchased.

School Uniforms

Parents are requested to purchase uniforms after enrollment. Information may be recieved from the school office. Children are not to wear shorts nor signature pants. For their safety, sandals nor clog type shoes are permitted, heels and toes should be covered.

Boys - Strictly navy blue pants, white shirts

Girls - Plaid jumpers and white blouses

Tuition/Fees

Discounts up to three children per month are awarded if tuition is paid by the due date each month. However, after 2 late payments, all discounts for the remainder of the school year will be void. Since our tuition is significantly low, there can be no exceptions.

Re-enrollment Fee is due at the time of registration. It includes registration, testing and student promotional fees.

Re-enrollment Book fee may be paid in two equal monthly installments.

Initial fees are due upon registration.

Registration, testing, tuition and student promotion fees are nonrefundable.

Financial records are kept on a 10-month basis and are averaged to make it easier for you. August 20th through May 20th (10 months) Tuition is due by the 20th of each month.

Summer Activity Program

A separate non-refundable check in the amount of $30.00 for K4 through 6th Grade may be written to secure a spot in the Summer Activity Program (SAP), please refer to the brochure when received. All SAP fees are to be submitted in check form to Zion Temple Christian Academy.

Parent Volunteers

Volunteer parents are needed each second Tuesday for about two hours. For information please call the school office or stop by to leave your name and daytime phone number signifying willingness to volunteer. We look forward to working with you.

School Closing

School closings and delays are broadcast from 5:30 - 9:00 a.m. on school days on the television and radio stations listed below.
